Who is God and Who am I – Your Conscience Knows
The two most important questions a person can ask are: who is God and who am I? Both questions are related, because the God who created you has a purpose for your life. Deep inside your heart, you have a hope for greatness. You desire more love, peace and joy. You know that there must be more to life than your current situation. The Holy Bible says there is a mystery in you, it is Christ, the hope of glory in you, (Col 1:27-29).
The truth about God is not hidden from you. It is in you, and all around you. The creation shows it, the Holy Bible declares it, and it is inside your heart, in your conscience. Christianity is the largest religion in the world and continues to outpace all others in religious conversions. The reason is, the God who reveals Himself through Jesus Christ, is a very personal God. People experience Him in the core of who they are. The good news about Jesus Christ touches a person’s conscience and resonates Truth.
Christ is Your Life-Essence-Conscience
Throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, God reveals Himself to mankind through progressive revelation of Jesus Christ. The Bible ends with the book of “The Revelation of Jesus Christ”. Throughout the Old Testament, He is most often known as the Lord, Jehovah. In the New Testament, He is the Lord, Jesus Christ. In you, He is your life-essence-conscience. Jesus the Christ is the source of all life, including yours.
Jesus Christ is the very essence of your life and your light for truth. Jesus said to him, “I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me, John 14:6 (AMP). He is Life. Without Him there would be no life. Deep inside your heart is your conscience. Conscience is defined as, “an inner feeling or voice acting as a guide to the rightness or wrongness of one’s behavior.”
Jesus Christ has always been the living expression of God to man. He has always been the voice, communication, and revelation of God to man. He is the Word. Jesus Christ not only reveals God our Father; He is also the revelation of who you are. He is the revelation of God and man in union.
The Word is one of the titles of Jesus. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men, (John 1:1-4).
The Word of God Will Guide You
Jesus Christ is your life-essence-conscience, light of truth, voice of God in you. Remember, Jesus is the Word of God and He is Life and Truth. In the Bible, “conscience” also means “co-perception”. Your conscience is where you perceive Truth, God’s truth–what He believes. Deception is when a person believes something that God does not believe. Deception causes darkness in the heart of man.
Jesus Christ is the revelation of the light, life and love of God, our Father. Jesus, as your life-essence-conscience, is there to guide you in loving God with all your heart and loving your neighbor as yourself. Practicing this causes your conscience to be happy. An example is how you feel good when you help someone in need. All the commandments in the Holy Bible are based on loving God and loving the people in your life.
To Deny Christ Is To Deny Your Very Own Life-Essence
Our soul, or heart, is conscious of whatever we choose to focus on. This works fine when the person’s heart desire is toward Jesus and they have a love for Truth. However, if a person turns away from the Light of Christ, their heart or soul consciousness can be clouded with dark clouds of deception, which veil them from perceiving His truth and Life. Read Romans chapter one to see the progression of how a person can lose all sense of godly moral perception. At this point a person will think they are following their conscience. However, the reality is they are following their own foolish deceptions. This happens when people become unconscious of their life-essence-conscience in them.
A person can deceive themselves into thinking they are enjoying life when, in reality they are using up their temporary life, choosing death in so many ways. It really all comes down to choosing life or death. To choose life is to choose the One who is Life. Any other choice is not eternal life. Only in union with Jesus Christ is there eternal life. To deny Jesus Christ is to deny your very own life-essence and existence.
The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God shines in them, for God has revealed it to them. (Romans 1:18-19)
They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts. Their consciences confirm this. Their competing thoughts will either accuse or excuse them, (Romans 2:15 HCSB).
If you have never heard the gospel of Jesus Christ, you will be judged by the thoughts of your conscience. If you have heard the gospel of Jesus Christ, you will be judged by if you believe or not. Your conscience is a witness that Christ is the only Way, Truth, and Life, and no one comes to God, the Father, except through Him. To deny Jesus Christ is to deny your very own life-essence and existence.
He In You, You In Him
Your conscience knows your sins. Only the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross by shedding His blood can purify your conscience from sins of death, (Hebrews 9:14). Christ became sin for you and gave His life for you so that you can be the righteousness of God in Him, (2nd Corinthians 5:21). When you give your temporary life to Christ and receive His sacrifice made on the cross for you, you then enter His eternal life. You are now living from inside of Him. He in you, and you in Him, in union. This is eternal life.
When a person believes in, and gives their life to Christ, they are then united to Christ–born from above, from the Father– and they continue into maturity, united to Christ. Unity with Christ is also union with the Father. The maturity of a born from above soul takes place in union with Christ and the Father. Christ in you is the hope of glory. You, united with Christ, is where glory is realized. Your born from above life is found only in Him.
