Who is God and Who am I – Your Conscience Knows

The two most important questions a person can ask are: who is God and who am I? Both questions are related, because the God who created you has a purpose for your life. Deep inside your heart, you have a hope for greatness. You desire more to love and be loved. You desire true peace, joy, and happiness. You know that there must be more to life than your current situation.

You are amazing! Yes, I am talking to you, human being. You are more than just special; you are made in the image of God. You began as thought of God, before He formed you. You are created unique from everyone else in the world because God desired to love someone just like you and be loved by you. The Bible says that you are God’s inheritance, His reward, (Eph 1:18)

One day two cells came together from two different people, and in an instant the two cells became a new and unique new cell; with a new DNA blueprint that only you have. In that same instant God breathed His Spirit, the spark of life into you and you became a living soul. Your soul and Spirit (breath of God) joined together to become a new living human being, you. As your cells multiplied your body was formed. God created your inward parts and knit you together in your mother’s womb. You are a miracle in so many ways. (Psalms 139)

The Bible says that we are Spirit, soul and body. We live in a physical body which is the most complicated and advanced physical technology in the universe. The person you are is your soul or being, inside your body.

The Bible often refers to the heart of man which, is inside the soul or the soul itself. The heart is the control center of your life and your consciousness. In your heart is your will, mind, emotions, imagination, and conscience. Your conscience is your inner guide for right and wrong. Your conscience is conscious of receiving from your Spirit, your life essence.

But there is a Spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding. (Job 32:8)

Inside your soul is the Spirit, it is the Spirit that gives you life. Without the Spirit the soul dies. The Spirit is from God and is your life source. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not live in and contend with man forever, because he also is flesh; nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.” (Genesis 6:3)

The word contend means to judge, strive with, and plead with. This means that God has set a time limit for the life of man. The Spirit is in a person, pleading with the soul to be reconciled to God. Your desire to know God is your conscience perceiving from your Spirit.

In the Bible, “conscience” also means “co-perception”. Your conscience is where you perceive truth, God’s truth, what He believes. Deception is when a person believes something that is not truth, something that God does not believe. Deception causes darkness in the heart of man. All sin comes from deception. God has given us the Holy Bible, the written Word of God as a foundation for what God believes.

For the word of God is living and energetic, and much sharper than a double-edged sword, and it pierces to the separation of soul and spirit and of joints, marrow and of bones, and judges the reasoning and conscience of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)

People were designed to live in a perfect world. However, we are born into a fallen world because of Adam’s sin which brought sin into the world. We now find ourselves in a world where there is good and bad; righteousness and suffering. We are bombarded by false information, often designed to manipulate us into compliance for someone else’s benefit.

Jesus Christ came to rescue us from sin and death and restore us into a holy relationship with God our Father. Jesus came to set us free from the limitations of this world. Yeshua [Jesus] said to him, “I AM THE LIVING GOD, The Way and The Truth and The Life; no man comes to my Father but by me alone.” (John 14:6 FCAB) Jesus Christ is Truth.

You cannot get away from your conscience, but you can reject it and ignore it to the point that you lose consciousness of your conscience. At that point, you have lost consciousness of the One who gave you life. The Bible calls this a hardened heart. The modern term for a person who has lost all consciousness of their conscience is a sociopath.

The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God shines in them, for God has revealed it to them. (Romans 1:18-19)

The truth about God is not hidden from you. It is in you, and all around you. The creation illustrates it, the Holy Bible declares it, and it is inside your heart, in your conscience. A person can deceive themselves into thinking they are enjoying life, but in reality, they are using up their temporary life, choosing death in so many ways. It really all comes down to choosing life or death.

To choose life is to choose the One who is Life. Any other choice is not eternal life. Only in union with Jesus Christ is there eternal life. To deny Jesus Christ is to deny your very own life-essence and existence.

Jesus answered him, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that unless a person is born again (anew, from above), he cannot ever see (know, be acquainted with, and experience) the kingdom of God. (John 3:3 AMPC)

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only and unique Son, so that everyone who trusts in Him may have eternal life, instead of being utterly destroyed.” (John 3:16 CJB)

Spiritual transformation begins with believing in Jesus Christ, putting your trust in Him. Spiritual maturity continues through relationship with God, not just knowing about Him, but knowing Him.

Your conscience knows your sins. Only the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross by shedding His blood for you, can purify your conscience from sin and death, (Hebrews 9:14). Christ became sin for you and gave His life for you so that you can be the righteousness of God in Him, (2nd Corinthians 5:21). If you are willing.
