The Father’s Frame of Reference

“Praised be Adonai, Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, who in the Messiah has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in heaven. In the Messiah he chose us in love before the creation of the universe to be holy and without defect in his presence. He determined in advance that through Yeshua the Messiah we would be his sons—in keeping with his pleasure and purpose— so that we would bring him praise commensurate with the glory of the grace he gave us through the Beloved One. In union with him, through the shedding of his blood, we are set free—our sins are forgiven; this accords with the wealth of the grace he has lavished on us. In all his wisdom and insight” Ephesians 1:3-8 (CJB)

The only way to define your worth is to know your genesis. Being conceived in your mother’s womb was not your original beginning. Your spirit has its beginning in God, who is your Father. Even before you were conceived, God knew you for He created you. This is the Father’s frame of reference for you.

for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.”  Acts 17:28

God is your Father, and you are His offspring. He is your original Life; He is your genesis. Like all children, you are made in the image and likeness of your Father (you came from Him!)

These are the ones who discover their genesis in God, beyond their natural conception! This is not about our blood lineage or whether we were a wanted-or unwanted-child; this is about our God-begotteness. We are his dream come true and not the invention of our parents. You are indeed the greatest idea that God has ever had! (See Jeremiah 1: 5; 29: 11 & John 3: 2-7) John 1:13 (MIR)

This means that the only way to know your value is to know what your Creator-Father says about you. He is the only Person in the whole universe who defines you. The only way to truly know yourself is to know Him!

The god of this world wants us to forget this. To make us forget, the world has created a fake frame of reference—a false reality. They build platforms, choose who get to be on these platforms, and then give trophies to those they have selected. This creates the illusion of superiority in worth, value, or purpose. It’s funny to think about how ridiculous this is. They build their own platforms, and also invent their own awards. The entire system is based on lust of flesh and lust of money.

This fake reality has its own set of superficial standards by which your value is judged. By their standards, if you meet their criteria, you have value. Some individuals are more valuable than others; Some have more worth or purpose than others; Some are significant, and some are less so. How ridiculous! This is completely made up, man-made invention.

If you believe this deception (which is easy to do if you do not remember who you are and where you come from), then it follows that you fall prey to insecurities. Insecurities are the result of comparing yourself to others within the world’s fake frame of reference, which is based on lust and idolatry.

However, the Father’s frame of reference is the only reality. Take away the world’s platforms of fame, the cameras, the award shows, and each person in the whole world is forced to look at their hearts to discover who they are. This is something that all of humanity has in common: The worth of a handcraft is determined by the craftsman. The worth of a painting is determined by the artist. The excellence of a meal is determined by the chef. The value of a skillfully crafted wooden table is determined by the carpenter. Likewise, your value was determined before you were even born. It has little to do with anything external.

“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.”  1 John 2:15-16 (NKJV)

Lift your eyes to the Father’s frame of reference, and He will give you vision to see His reality. He will show you that your worth and value were decided before anything you could have said or done! Before you took a single breath or made any life-decision, God determined your value to be priceless. He decided that you were worth dying for.

“So now I live with the confidence that there is nothing in the universe with the power to separate us from God’s love. I’m convinced that his love will triumph over death, life’s troubles, fallen angels, or dark rulers in the heavens. There is nothing in our present or future circumstances that can weaken his love. There is no power above us or beneath us—no power that could ever be found in the universe that can distance us from God’s passionate love, which is lavished upon us through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One!”  Romans 8:38-39 TPT

The world’s false reality is purposely intended to distract you from the Truth that God is your Father. It lies to you, telling you that you are fatherless, and that your value comes from your own effort. This is the predicament of an orphan—he must earn everything by the sweat of his brow. But you are not an orphan! You are as much a son (or daughter) as a son can be! You look so much like your Father that it is simply undeniable. This birth from above is far superior to any natural birth.

Jesus Christ is the cure to mankind’s orphan beliefs. Everything Jesus did was for two reasons: to reveal the Father and to reveal you! He is not an example for you but of you. The Life of Jesus Christ is the Father’s bold statement of your existence in Him. Jesus is your living birth certificate! He is The Word of God made flesh. The ultimate proof of your intrinsic, priceless value lies hidden (now revealed) in the revelation of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Jesus Christ is God’s mind made up about you (du Toit, 2019).

“The entire Bible is about Jesus, and Jesus is all about you. This makes the Bible the most relevant book. Jesus is God’s mind made up about “you-manity”! The meaning of his name declares our salvation. In him, God rescued his image and likeness in us.” – Francois du Toit

The conclusion is this: the only way to measure your worth is to stare into the eyes of your Genesis. In His perspective, you journey from the place of arrival, because Jesus accomplished everything for you. God’s opinion about you is not swayed by anyone or anything; there is nothing you could earn that would give Him a higher opinion of who you are.

When you received eternal life in Christ Jesus, God’s eternal existence became yours. We often point out the fact that “eternal” has no end. But we overlook the equally important fact that it also has no beginning. When does eternity begin? When you were joined to God in Christ Jesus, you became a co-partaker of the endless echo of the Life of God.

From eon to eon, age to age, the Word of God continues. His statement, “Let there be Light” has never ended. The Bible tells us of Christ: “In him was life, and the life was the light of mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not suppressed it.”  John 1:4-5 CJB

In the Father’s frame of reference, once upon a time, you began in the heart and mind of God. In the Father’s frame of reference, you were born just as He planned you, in the right place, at the perfect time. In the Father’s frame of reference, you are His own, and you are worth His dying for. In the Father’s frame of reference, you are all things beautiful—you are His dream come true!
