In this Age of Glory, we will come to realize God as our Righteous Father. That does not mean it will be easy. We must be able to handle the glory that is coming, or it could destroy us. There is a purifying of the heart that is taking place in the body of Christ and in your own heart. We must let go of, and repent of, those things in our lives that are not from God. Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God. (Matthew 5:8)
As a good Father, He knows the absolute best for us, and He knows how to help us shape our will to the place we are willing to do His will. Just as Jesus prayed before He went to the cross, “not my will but yours be done.” This is spiritual maturity. We can choose to make it easier or more difficult. It is so important to judge yourself and make self-corrections, as the Bible says, (1st Cor 11:31-32).
Recently, I woke up in the morning feeling terrible physically and mentally, my mind was cloudy. However, at the same time I was getting so much revelation from the Lord. I was able to write it down as it was coming. I considered it amazing that at the same time my body and mind was not functioning well, the Lord was giving me so much revelation through my Spirit. I had the sense that the Lord was teaching me something. I think that this is how we are going to need to go forward in the time we live. Not living from the temporary physical realm but rather from the eternal Spirit realm.
Life is not easy, but God takes care of His kids, and through it all we learn to trust Him more. Later that morning, I looked online to see what is happening in the rest of the world. The first thing that popped up was a short video of a young man from Wuhan China surfing in a swollen river. I was amazed as he navigated the fast-moving and dangerous rapids being thrown at him. China is currently experiencing record flooding that is causing much suffering. Not to mention all they have gone through in Wuhan already. Obviously, that guy was trying to make the best of a bad situation.
I immediately had the sense that was what I was doing earlier. I was surfing with Jesus. This is exactly what we must learn to do in this time. “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33 NASB). Tribulation is like the turbulence of a raging swollen river coming at you. We are learning to surf with Jesus.
This is also why it is so critical to live in, and be led by the Spirit, not allowing the things happening in the physical realm to stop us. God has ways of blessing us in the suffering, and He wants to prove it. The world can temporarily look dark but if we live in the Eternal Spirit, we will experience the glory. It was through the Eternal Spirit that Jesus offered Himself to God as an unblemished sacrifice, (Heb 9:14). We are to live in and be led by the Spirit. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. (Rom 8:14)
In the Bible, names are very important. They not only identify a person; they describe the character, purpose and even position of a person. In John 17 Jesus prayed for you; part of what He said is….
Righteous Father! The world has not known You. However, I have known You, and these have known that You sent Me. I made Your name known to them and will make it known, so the love You have loved Me with may be in them and I may be in them. (John 17:25-26 HCSB)
Here, Jesus calls the Father “Righteous Father.” Then He says “I have made your name known to them so that the love you have for me will be in them and I in them.” As I wrote in a previous article, this word for “known” is a very intimate word that means to know thoroughly though experience, not just know about someone. To know God is to love Him and the things He loves, which is His people.
The greatest problem on Earth today is Fatherlessness. People who do not know their Righteous Father have an identity crisis that affects every area of life. Many do not have a father that was involved in their life, others have had an earthly father that was absent or even abusive. Even if you had a great father, you still need to know your Righteous Father to know who you really are. Because we live in a fallen world, our enemy targets fathers as a way of causing damage to the family.
The fallen one does not want you to know your Righteous Father because then you will know who you are and where you came from. You then become a major threat to the kingdom of darkness. Because then you will understand your position and the authority that has been given to you as a child of God. When you truly believe that the Creator of the universe is your Dad, you will begin to see truth through His eyes. You will begin to love, as He loves. Love is the clearest vision. Knowing your Righteous Father is the foundation of discerning truth.
