– The word is a doorway—a passageway between realms, kingdoms, and realities.
Meditation Word: The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple. (Psalms 119:130)
Understanding
In the scripture above, the word for entrance means an opening, doorway, a place to enter. It also means an unfolding–this can refer to revelation. As you begin to comprehend how concepts fit together, you begin to have understanding. Jesus says, the word is like a seed that gets planted in your heart. A seed can unfold and become a tree.
We receive a word and it is then unpacked in our heart as we meditate on it. Subsequently, it becomes a part of who we are. This works for either good or bad. Think about the power of words to change your life.
Doorway
The Word as an entrance is very interesting. The Word is a doorway. It can take you somewhere. You can enter it. Truth takes you into God’s reality; deception can take you where you do not want to go.
Since a word creates a doorway in your heart, what if that doorway is two way? It is. A word from God is an entrance to the Kingdom of God. That means the Kingdom of God also has access to your heart through that doorway. The same would be true for deception–it would allow things into your heart that you would not want to be there. If the entrance of God’s Word gives light, that would mean that the entrance of deception gives darkness.
A word is a passageway between realms, kingdoms, and realities.
An Escape Route
What did Jesus say about what sets you free? Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:31-32).
This means the Word is a also a place you can abide in–a place you can live in. A place you can rest in. The word of God is a passageway–an escape route from the virtual reality of this world. A word can set you free in the light, or a word can imprison you in darkness. Therefore, the battle for your soul is the Information War. You give the victory of your life to whom you believe.
