Being born again or born from above is receiving and believing the Word of God, which is planted in your heart as an immortal Seed from Your Father in Heaven. It carries the DNA of your Father which is the blueprint for your life in Him. This seed is the Word of God, it is the Spirit of Christ, which is the Spirit of sonship, making you a son or daughter of God, see (Romans 8:9-17). One of the names of Jesus is “the Word of God”.
IN THE beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. (John 1:1 AMPC)
In the original Greek word, is the term Logos. Jesus as the Logos of God is the living Expression of the Father. Logos can also mean the act of speaking. It is the communication of a thought, plan, or picture from one person’s heart to another, expressed in a word(s). It is the impartation of God’s will expressed to you, in heart to heart communication of His Word.
When you receive the Word of God, through the Holy Bible or the Holy Spirit, you are receiving an impartation of Christ, Himself. Words are spiritual. When you receive a word, it makes a home in your heart for the spirit that inspired the word. Therefore, you must be very careful about the words, thoughts, pictures, and imaginations you allow into your heart.
Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. (John 14:23)
Another translation says it this way… Jesus replied, “Loving me empowers you to obey my word. And my Father will love you so deeply that we will come to you and make you our dwelling place. (John 14:23 TPT)
Believing the Word means taking it seriously enough to obey it. When you receive the Word you also receive the power to keep it and obey it. When you come into agreement with a Word from God it creates a place of union with Him. Faith (trust) is the uniting bond between one who speaks and one who hears. Believing activates the Word in your life.
Jesus says, “It is the Spirit who gives life, the flesh is no help. The words I have spoken to you are Spirit and life.” (John 6:63 CJB)
The Holy Spirit will highlight certain things in the scriptures that are directly for you. You will know it when you read it or hear it. It is good to listen to the Bible being read also. In the Bible you will receive wisdom, encouragement, strength, correction, and guidance. You will discover yourself and who you are called to be in the scriptures, just as Jesus did when He walked on earth. Then I said, Behold, here I am, coming to do Your will, O God–[to fulfill] what is written of Me in the volume of the Book. (Hebrews 10:7 AMPC)
Every Scripture has been written by the Holy Spirit, the breath of God. It will empower you by its instruction and correction, giving you the strength to take the right direction and lead you deeper into the path of godliness. Then you will be God’s servant, fully mature and perfectly prepared to fulfill any assignment God gives you. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 TPT)
I have treasured Your word in my heart so that I may not sin against You. (Psalms 119:11 HCSB)
